After completing a Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cape Town and a second Masters Degree in Finance at the University of Cambridge, Terence moved to Toronto to join MoneyKey as Director of Special Projects in 2013. In 2015, Terence joined Mavrx Inc. as a Product Manager in San Francisco where he is responsible for planning and leading the development of the internal flight logistics system (FOCS).
In September 2017, Terence togethr with Irshad Kathrada and Dr Alon Stern released Slide, an app that allows users to send money to any email or number for free. Slide was inspired by Venmo, a hugely successful payment platform in the US, and South Africa’s challenges around accessibility, banking costs and payment options. Designed to look similar to social tools like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, Slide even allows users to personalise with emojis.
